Author Bio

Michael Andrew Ellis was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He spent his elementary school years in Pleasant Grove, Alabama, but grew up, during his high school years, in Winchester, Virginia. He has an English degree from Brigham Young University, where he had the opportunity to study with Douglas H. Thayer.  Michael also has a Legal Studies degree from Utah Valley University. For his "day job," he works as a document automation consultant at HotDocs.

Interests: Reading classical literature, writing serious fiction, and listening to classical music or alternative rock

Favorite Movies: My Dinner with Andre, Gattaca, Blade Runner

Favorite Music: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Dvořák, Ravel, Chopin, Grieg, Zoe Keating, U2, and Radiohead

Favorite Books: The “Classics,” in particular, The Odyssey, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamozov, and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man; and more modern fare, the works of William Gaddis (The Recognitions, JR); and in Mormon Literature, Levi S. Peterson's The Backslider, and the works of Douglas H. Thayer
